Our History

BEACON is both new and old.  Its roots go back to the 1950s when a church was organized in Southampton and a building built at Little Plains Road & Burnett Street.  It was known as Southampton Alliance Church.  In 1970 the church moved to its present location at the corner of Montauk Highway & Scuttle Hole Road in Water Mill, and became known as Hamptons Alliance Church.

In 2008 the church began to rethink how “church” might be done.  Meeting in a local home for several months, the group studied together what the Bible had to say about the church, and prayed about what God might want to do going forward.  Through that process, a new purpose statement, mission & vision were born.  The church officially launched on December 21, 2008.

Today, BEACON is comprised of people of all ages who want to see Jesus made famous in the Hamptons, and the lives of people everywhere transformed.
